Designing a Life Worth Living

Your life, in your hands

life of your dreams, beautiful life, advice for happiness, tips for a happy life, Best happiness blog

Every day, you wake up and choose to live the life you have in front of you.

You ate breakfast this morning because you chose to.
You are reading this post because you choose to.
You work your job because you chose to.

The most beautiful thing about life is that it is 100% in your control. You can choose what you do in every moment.

That begs the question…

If you aren’t happy, isn’t it time you design a life worth living?

Take a good look at what you created

Before you go into a dark, depressing rant about how you have to work to make a living, you need to realize how much power you have.

You created the life you are living today.

All of the knowledge stored in your head is by choice.

You studied certain things in school, consumed whatever podcasts and YouTube videos interested you, and are willingly reading this post.

You are your creation.

This is a good thing, even if you don’t like your creation.

You still and will always have the power to create.

Starting right now, you can begin the transformation of yourself. You can start to create the person you want to be.

If you want to be smarter, you can take free university classes online, binge educational YouTube videos, and read as many books as you like.

If you want to be stronger, you can spend every spare minute in the gym and destroy all the protein that hits your plate.

You have that power.

Once you accept that you have the power to transform yourself, you can start to design a life worth living.

“You are under no obligation to be the same person you were five minutes ago.” - Alan Watts

Dive deep into that beautiful mind of yours

There is a problem that many of you suffer from - You don’t know yourself.

You may know you have the power to transform your life, but you don’t know what kind of transformation you want to undertake.

Try this:

1) Ask your friends and family about yourself

Whether you know yourself or not, there is a good chance your family and friends do. Ask them what your strengths and weaknesses are and what they think of when they think of you.

2) Spend time with yourself

Meditate, journal, and go on long walks. The more time with yourself, the better. Figure out what’s going on in there.

3) Talk to a professional

A few sessions with a therapist can work wonders. They can help navigate the corners of your mind and help you learn about yourself.

Does your perfect life require socializing every day? Does it require daily physical activity or some regular play time? Does it have to be centred around an excellent professional life with consistent progress and a motivating mission?

Figure it out!

Once you have a good understanding of yourself and an idea of the elements required for a fulfilling life, you can start your design process.

This creation requires consistency

Creating a life worth living is a constant work of progress. Rome wasn’t built in a day!

If you’re trying to get in shape, it won’t happen after going to the gym for a week. You need to go consistently for months.

But it’ll be worth it.

If you want to be the smartest person in the room. Good luck! Each room is different!

But you can get a lot smarter with consistent learning. And it’ll be worth it.

If you want time to play and let go each day, it will be hard if you aren’t used to it. Consistency will get you there, though!

No matter what kind of life you choose to design, the only way to get there is through consistent hard work, constant adjustments and reflection, and often painful lessons.

A life worth living

You’ll know you’ve successfully designed a life worth living if you wake up excited.

I mean, truly happy that you woke up because now you have another chance to create more awesome memories.

It may take some time and work, but you won’t regret it.
