What is it about?

In this book, Ryan writes all about making the right decisions and doing what is best. Throughout the book, he tells great stories of history that prove his point in a very captivating way.

Although it feels quite similar to his other stoic books, at minimum, you will feel motivated to make good decisions by the end of it.

My favourite parts

I really enjoy Ryan Holiday’s writing in general. Because his chapters are short, he is able to share many good stories in a short amount of pages. He gets straight to the point and keeps your attention the whole time.

Aside from the writing, I really enjoyed it when he talked about power. He essentially explains that to do good, you need to have some power. He also goes into how it is a flawed idea to think that having no power is noble (a seemingly common sentiment these days).

Who should read it?

Ryan Holiday’s stoic books are great for those who are trying to shape their life together. It’s easy to go off track and to lose your cool when you do. Since I’ve started reading his books, I have found I am a lot more controlled. This book is another that adds to that.

Additional thoughts

This is a great book to keep on the side or in your bag. It reads quickly, and it is easy to read for a quick 5 minutes or binge for a couple of hours.

Another book that made me happy.
