Perfect Your Morning in Just 15 Minutes
The 2025 morning routine is the best one yet
The perfect morning routine is meant to set the tone for your entire day.
By combining a few different key slices into a beautiful, juicy pie (your morning routine), you can ensure that you’re physically, mentally and emotionally ready to take on whatever comes at you.
Imagine never being asked if you woke up on the wrong side of the bed ever again…
Keep reading if that sounds awesome to you.
A little bit of planning and reflecting
I quickly came to realize that your day is better when you have a good idea of what you want to accomplish, and have reflected on how your previous day was.
There are a few ways to do this, but I found that these 2 ways are the best.
Meditating
Don’t overcomplicate your morning meditation. This doesn’t have to be you sitting cross-legged, levitating into a new dimension.
This can literally be you, sitting up in your bed, closing your eyes and breathing.
During this time, reflect on how yesterday went, and then go through today’s to-do list.
Now, finish by coming back to the present.
Journaling
Meditating doesn’t always work, and can be intimidating. If that is the case, try journaling instead.
To be clear, I do both each day. That’s because they help each other.
When I journal in the morning, I like to write about everything I want to get done.
I also include something that would make me happy if it happened.
“What is something that would make this day amazing?”
Just placing that thought on paper can increase the odds of it happening.
Hydrate
While you sleep, you are not drinking water.
Obviously
That means that throughout the night, you are slowly turning into a raisin.
You weren’t meant to be a raisin. You were meant to be a voluptuous grape.
So, every morning when I wake up, I hydrate.
I do this by mixing water with a green powder - 16oz of water to be exact.
On days when I know I’ll be doing some serious physical activity, I even throw in an electrolyte powder such as LMNT in the mix.
You’ll notice your energy levels change. You’ll focus better and feel less sluggish.
Move your body
Getting your heart rate up in the morning is a great way to wake yourself up and ensure you aren’t slumping in your office chair in a few minutes.
There are several ways you can move your body. Here are a few of my recommendations:
1) A combination of movements.
20 squats
10 push-ups
10 sit-ups
Repeat
2) A morning walk
3) 3 rounds of skipping rope for a minute or two
4) 10 minutes of yoga
Figure out what works the best for you. This can change day by day. Listen to your body.
Sort through the fires
For the entrepreneurs or managers out there, we have fires to put out every single day.
Ignoring your phone for too long can be a bad idea, even if it is overall healthier for you.
You never know who needs your help. You never know what might have gone wrong.
So, once I have done the other things on this list, I check my phone quickly to see if anything needs my immediate attention.
Sometimes, I need to run to pick something up for the restaurant. Or, it could be a clogged toilet that needs a plumber.
Either way, I get it done, and then go back to what I was doing.
If you are a firefighter, go put out the fires.
Go get it
Now that you’ve got your mind in the right place, figured out what needs to be done, woke up and hydrated your body, and put out the initial fires, you can get your day going!
You know exactly what you need to do, and you are ready to do it.
