What is it about?
This book shares lessons from Brene’s work with leaders, taking them through her “Dare to Lead” work. It speaks on the power of collaboration, deep thinking, and deep connection. Much of what it shares is the important aspects of being a leader in the current age.
My favourite parts
In Brené’s book, “Atlas of the Heart”, she went through a bunch of emotions, putting language to them, because with language, you can better understand the emotions you are feeling or seeing in another person. She updated some of those emotions, and I found that helpful and great.
As a leader myself, it can be hard to connect with some people of the younger generation or at least understand where they are coming from and what they are looking for. This book does address some of that as well.
Who should read it?
Anyone who is in a leadership position would find great value from this book.
I think it would also be tremendously helpful for those looking to start a company. Understanding what this book puts forward can put you in a better position to lower the chances of annoying business headaches as a founder and someone hiring.
Additional thoughts
When you read too many business books or just listen to success stories, you sometimes forget that as an entrepreneur, you are dealing with humans. I found that this book humanized running a business.
