What is it about?

Breaking down the psychology of persuasion into what is essentially a handbook. You will learn about different ways to influence people and how to defend against those who are trying to use the same methods to influence you.

My favourite parts

This book is highly recommended by many prominent people, and reading it, you can see why. The information the book provides you with can be very valuable in both professional and personal life.

I specifically enjoyed the parts about social proof. It is something I looked into prior for online businesses and have used heavily in the nightlife industry. I’ve seen how powerful it is. People tend to gravitate towards what others know to be good or true.

Who should read it?

I believe there is value in this book for anyone, but especially those in professional positions who are trying to climb up the ladder. You should learn if anyone is trying to persuade you, but you should also learn how to do the same to further benefit your endeavours.

Additional thoughts

While this book is great, it is definitely one of those books that could be half the length. It kind of drags on through each chapter. You may be able to skim through some parts without missing anything too important.
