33 Things I Added to My Bucket List at the Age of 33 (You should copy these ideas)
Checking these things off makes me happy
The last thing you want is to be sitting on your deathbed wishing you had one more chance to do what you’ve always wanted to do.
But unless you start a bucket list and work at it, this will be your fate.
I get it, though. Starting a bucket list can be scary. It requires you to face the fact that you’re a mortal and will die.
This is your sign to stop delaying and get to it.
At the age of 33, I added these 33 things. Steal what you can, and start your own!
1. Go skydiving
Falling from the sky and being able to see a beautiful sight while you do it sounds pretty awesome. Sign me up!
2. Eat feta cheese in Greece
Honestly, I love cheese. Feta cheese is so good that I need to go to Greece to have it. Maybe a view of the Mediterranean at the same time?
3. Watch a Muay Thai fight in Thailand
I’ve been training in Muay Thai on and off for about 16 years. I love it and have always wanted to see a good fight in Thailand!
4. Have kids
The older I get, the more I want kids. I have major baby fever right now and would regret it if I didn’t have any before I died. Honestly, I want as many as I can afford.
5. Buy another Porsche
In 2019, I lost my Porsche due to a giant speeding ticket. I really want to get one again. I was happy every time I stepped foot in that thing.
6. Visit where my family is from in France
I love culture and I love family. I’d love to see my origins. My family immigrated to Canada from Le Mans and St Malo in France in the early 1600s.
7. Go to space
I used to want to be an Astrophysicist, but ended up dropping out of university. I still have an admiration for space and would immediately go to Mars if Elon called me.
8. Write a book
I’m sort of halfway done with 2 different books. One is not meant to be published, but the other might work! This is to satisfy my creative side.
9. Make a significant positive impact
This could be in the form of a meaningful donation or could even be starting a business that benefits the world greatly.
10. Attend a meditation retreat
I meditate daily and have for a while now. I’d love to do so for a few days around others who are doing the same. A powerful experience.
11. See an F1 race in person
I’ve always appreciated F1 and have watched it on and off. Seeing a race in person would be incredible.
12. Have a martini at a fancy bar top alone in Europe
James Bond is to credit for this one. There’s something really cool about just sitting there, people watching, dressed up, and enjoying a lovely drink.
13. Buy a real katana in Japan
I have demo katanas and show katanas, but I would love one that was delicately crafted.
14. Get married
Do I need to explain this one? Part of this is to find my life partner, but I also really want a fun wedding.
15. Reach a chess rating of over 2000
I love playing chess, and I’ve been stuck around 1600 for a while. Hitting 2000 would be a milestone that would make me feel like I’ve become good at my favourite game.
16. To never finish my reading list
If you finish your reading list, that means you are no longer curious or willing to learn. I hope mine grows faster than I can read.
17. Eat a bowl of pho in Vietnam
I eat pho like 3-5 times a week. It’s been about 20+ years now too… It’s borderline an addiction. Regardless, I want to enjoy a bowl in Vietnam.
18. Meditate somewhere with powerful energy
Meditation is a big part of my life. There are certain places you can feel that have a powerful energy. I want to find more of those places.
19. Watch a World Cup soccer game in person
The World Cup is one of the few events everyone in the world cares about. There is so much energy at those games. I want to be around it once. I’d love if my dad were there for it too.
20. See Coldplay in concert
I honestly love Coldplay. Seeing the concerts where everyone is singing and basically crying together looks awesome.
21. Go to Tomorrowland
Why not go to what may be the best electronic music event in the world? I’d prefer to go when my brother, Fahjah, DJs there.
22. Ride in a private jet (preferably my own)
Feels like a randomly cool experience, even if it might be a little pretentious. Could you imagine the convenience of owning one?
23. Sell a company I built for 8 figures (or more)
This isn’t necessarily about the money earned from the sale (although that’s great too). It’s more about selling something of that value. An accomplishment.
24. Build something I am truly proud of
This is similar to the previous one. But I want to build something meaningful to me. This may come in the form of a podcast…
25. Give a bear a hug
I’m secretly a bear. I love berries, salmon sashimi, sleeping in the winter, and I am pretty damn cuddly. I’d like if the bear became my friend too.
26. Go to a fashion show in Paris or Milan
Although I’m not that fashion-forward myself, I’ve always had an admiration for those who are. I’d love to go see a fashion show somewhere exquisite and see what it’s all about. I’m sure the parties are great.
27. Eat soup dumplings in Taiwan
Soup dumplings may be the best food ever. Dumpling and soup in one? Are you kidding me?! I heard Taiwan has exceptional ones.
28. Sit peacefully at a tea house in China
Tea is incredible. I’d love to go to a tea house in China to admire the tea culture and sip some of the best tea the world has to offer.
29. See a spaceship launch
Again, I have an admiration for space. I also have an appreciation for incredible engineering and explosions.
30. Go to Burning Man
This is kind of like the final boss of all music festivals. I’d have to mentally prepare for this one.
31. Eat steak and drink wine in Argentina, maybe tango a little too
I hear Argentina has some of the best wine and steak in the world. Those are two things I really love. I’d likely wanna dance after enjoying something so delicious, so may as well do a little tango while I’m there.
32. Die feeling like I loved to my fullest
The most important thing in life is to love. Move with love, treat others with love, create with love, be love. I want to know if I did this when I die.
33. Be a good dad
You’re going to die. Your children are how you leave a legacy in the world. They take your genes and continue on after you. I want to make sure I treated my children incredibly so they can also make a positive impact on the world.
